Promote applications for NYSAR and NAR Community involvement awards. UPDATE: Applications for nysar community involvement distributed via email and usps to local board and association volunteer leaders and AE’s. NAR Community Service Award provided to local board AE’s. Staff requested that local board nominate the NY REALTORS from their board who received NYSAR’s Community Service Award in 2014 and 2015.

Participate in annual community service activity such as Habitat for Humanity build. . Update: NYSAR participated in a 3 day Habitat for Humanity build on Long Island in August/September 2016.

Apply for NAR My REALTOR® Party community service related grants. Update: Staff attempted to apply for an NAR Housing Opportunities Grant for the Habitat build on Long Island, however, NAR does not award grants to participate on Habitat builds as it is considered “sponsoring” an event. Staff has been cultivating a relationship with HomeSmartNY (a coalition of housing counseling and legal services agencies) and exploring new ways to partner with this sector of the industry – staff is looking into ways to apply for My REALTOR® Party grant for this initiative.
